A-Collection by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec

Great set of tables, benches and stackable chairs designed to furnish the Faculty of Humanities at University of Copenhagen. Created by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec design studio for Danish furniture manufacturer Hay.

'With this new collection it was our ambition to resume an old scandinavian tradition targeting specific architecture and specific needs in designing new furniture...
In our proposal for the new range of educational furniture, we have attempted to create furniture which in form and identity has a clear dating in our age and which in a compelling manner uncovers the functional needs of a university in 2012.'

Nerd Chair by David Geckeler

A new icon has been born - Nerd Chair, honoured by Beckers International Design Award 2011 and Muuto Talent Award 2012, has just been put into production and will arrive at the first shops next month. The concept refers to mid-century modern scandinavian design: clean, refined shape and construction simplicity - laminated plywood sheets connected without any metal elements.

The designer says: "To me, Nordic design is unique in terms of tradition well approved quality. It is fascinating to see how a new generation of young designers transform this heritage."

Big-game

Big-game was established in 2004 by Grégoire Jeanmonod (Swiss), Elric Petit (Belgian) and Augustin Scott de Martinville (French). The team has developed a clear, well-defined design style: minimalist, geometric shapes and innovative concepts that suprise with their refined simplicity.

'Signs' coat stand, produced by Japanese Karimoku, won Wallpaper* Design Award 2010 (last photo). The stand movable arms pivot out from the frame when a coat it placed and, thanks to hidden magnets, snap back when not in use. 'Signs' comes in two finish versions: natural or gray stained wood.
