Stream-of-consciousness
Freehand illustrations crept out of the drawing pad - flooding onto almost all the surfaces in this Brooklyn apartment. Here lives the author: Shantell Martin, London-born artist known for her intriguing murals and live performances. Magical!

Mid-Century modern in Stockholm
This apartment, flawless in its raw imperfection, belongs to one of the creative directors behind the swedish clothing brand Hope - Stefan Söderberg. The original herringbone parquet makes terrific background for Mid-Century modern pieces. I like the way the floors were renovated - sandblasting oak emphasized beautiful texture of old wood.

Cobble Hill, Brooklyn
New York apartment of Stefanie Brechbuehler and Robert Highsmith, a couple behind the design collaborative Workstead. A real home, where every single object has its own story. Eames lounge chair inherited from Mr. Highsmith’s grandfather, the blue and yellow abstract art piece painted by his grandmother. The walnut bed designed by a former classmate. DIY burlap curtains. And in the living room - Jean Prouvé Potence Lamp found on sale.
A great example of how to create a real home, a place that has a genuine, unique soul. Not much, but it takes time: appreciate family treasures and collect only things that matter to you.
