Lindsey Adelman's light fixtures are made with industrial finishes, yet seem very light - simply floating in the air. Intriguing organic forms, refined and timeless, dramatically change the feel of each interior they were installed in. Simply - lightning art pieces made of brass, bronze, nickel and hand-blown glass. Urban beauty in its own right, immune to drifting styles and trends.

Vintage wire cage lamps
Vintage industrial lightning - a sparkle of inspiration came from Anders Gramer's photography portfolio. It seems that wire pendants are more and more popular. I guess vintage lightbulbs are difficult to find, so I mighy try low energy lightbulb from Plumen.

New lightning designs from Yellow Goat
New custom lightning from Australian company Yellow Goat: "crazy but cool". Cutting edge designs in all varieties: exotic and sexy, classic and techno, eco and minimalist, anything you wish for. Whimsical and oversized, but immaculately crafted in the tiniest details. Dramatic, impressive and so beautiful that almost unreal!

Miyake lamp by Arihiro Miyake
Intriguing lamp design by Japanese Arihiro Miyake, where the balance has been reversed: the base has become the main interest point and the source of light seems very modest. The right angle can be adjusted by turning the polyhedron-shaped base. Less is definitely more...
Miyake lamp is produced by Moooi Netherlands.

Daylight entrance by Daniel Rybakken
I saw ‘Daylight entrance’ project at DogA last month and felt very impressed by the originality of the idea. The led lamp disguised under the wall surface creates the illusion of sunlight reflection lightening up the whole interior. The design plays with our perception of light and what is more: just think how positively it can affect your mood!
The young Norwegian designer, Daniel Rybakken worked with natural daylight effects in his earlier projects: ‘Daylight comes sideways’, ‘The subconscious effects of daylight’ and ‘Surface daylight’. Current light installation, collecting all the ideas and incorporating them into architecture, was realized in the entrance of the office building in Stockholm.
Daniel Rybakken was awarded recently Norsk Form's Prize to Young Designers 2010.

Kevin Reilly lightning
Medieval chandeliers? All of these are electrical wax candles - innovative lightning concept by Kevin Reilly. Immaculately handcrafted designs enchant with clear, minimalist form. I admire the intriguing relationship between historical and contemporary aesthetics.

Lamps: the naked bulb
What is the most popular design theme ever? I suppose it is not difficult to guess. But is the bulb itself a design icon? Endlessly transformed and tortured by designers all over the world. New lightning technologies couldn't have stop the process, the bulb only gained new incarnations. Inspiring?

Surreal, on the phone
When Alexander Graham Bell invented the first phone, it was perceived by many as a mysterious object equipped with magical powers. Ironic, time likes to draw circles and again we end up longing for the imaginary magic, now enclosed in charming vintage objects, like these black bakelite phone lamps from Crosby Street Hotel, in New York.

...................................................................................................................................................................... The real bakelite telephone lamp was designed by lighting artist Alex Randall, as a part of the 'reclamation and renovation' series.
"The Bakelite Telephones were my first lighting piece and have been our best seller ever since. The phones are such wonderful pieces in their own right that it's wonderful to be able to return them to a useful purpose. I think people love them so much because like me, they remind them of past times. For me, I remember using my grandparents'. When they upgraded to a touch-tone phone my sister and I inherited the old phone for our playhouse. I remember all those times in there talking on the phone to the make-believe characters who were coming round for a cup of tea!"
