Birdie lamps: I want to fly away :)

I should dedicate this post to Ingo Maurer, as a tribute to his unique imagination and truly creative thinking. His designs express great sense of humor, individuality and provocative nature. Their true originality attracts everyone's attention. It seems to me that Ingo Maurer is more an artist than a designer.

Bird inspired lamps are fascinating. Maybe I should rather write: flying inspired.

Japanese journeys. The Otake house by Suppose Design Office.

The Otake house was build on a high plateau in Hiroshima. The location, with magnificent view of the Kamei Castle Ruins was inspiration to creating the interior that opens up to scenery. Idea of synergy between outside and inside form has a long tradition in Japanese architecture. The scenic house was designed by Suppose Design Office in 2007.

Valentine's kiss: self reflecting love :)

Believe it or not, this post was inspired by My Loved One! Let me introduce his favourite lamp, always present on his desk, but... the lonely version :) I really like the design, thought-provoking...

Architectural portraits by Jason Thielke

I felt truly intrigued by Jason Thielke's art. The mixed media technique developed by the artist seems exceptionally interesting. He combined aerosol, acrylic paint and ink. Original effect was achieved by transforming drawings into laser etch.

Cruel laser lines contrast with captivating softness and intimacy of gestures captured in the portraits.

black and white furniture. winter inspiration.

Black and white graphics are my favourite. And I guess this is why I love Norwegian winter landscapes. The delight of walking on a fresh snow. Everything becomes like a new sheet of paper, and I feel like drawing.

So here are furniture designs to create graphic, contrasting style interiors. Winter inspired.

The designers from Out of stock were inspired by winter childhood memories: "We remember the fascination with the layers of fresh snow on items left outdoors when we wake up on a winter’s morning. But papa said not to sit on them as it would get us wet and cold." I just had to quote.
