Cintas carpet by Patricia Urquiola

Chevalier Edition launched recently new carpet created by Patricia Urquiola. The inspiration for Cintas design was the organic form of green alga, transformed into intriguing pattern.  As many other Chevalier Edition carpets, it also breaks with traditional, rectangular rug shape. And though it may seem surprising, Patricia Urquiola considers her design as an everyday use object, rather than a work of art:

"I don’t like a carpet to be a statement or an artpiece. I like it to be a tool for living. And something that you can choose with more freedom & instinct than you would other pieces that are less flexible."

Breeze coffee table by Monica Förster

Monica Förster is one of the most renowned contemporary Swedish designers, working in her own studio based in Stockholm. Her furniture designs have been recognized internationally and won several prestigious awards. She is also a teacher and a lecturer in the field of design.

Breeze coffee table was created for Swedese Möbler in 2007:

"A slow summer day. The sun is shining and there is a smooth breeze that slowley moves the grass where I'm sitting. The lunch is already set on the table and I'm just about to sit down when the breeze moves over the table cloth. I reach out to adjust the waves that the breeze just created ,then I sit down to eat."

Cato, the elk hanger by Pur Norsk

Let me introduce Cato, a genuine Norwegian moose designed by Pur Norsk. It's a modern, minimalist version of antler decor, and no animals were harmed! Cato is immaculately crafted from oak and walnut.

"The coat hanger is an all Norwegian quality product solid enough to carry even the heaviest of winter coats. It is easy to put up on the wall and is designed so that the children can reach up to the moose’s nose."

Mormor kitchen ceramics by Gry Fager

Gry Fager´s Mormor porcelain series was spotted by Normann Copenhagen at the stage of a student final project at the Danish Design School in 2008. The design is unique indeed, fresh and modern, jet inspired by tradition. Gry Fager used familiar embroidery pattern as a main design feature and achieved both warm and humorous effect.

"With Mormor, the kitchen is the place where everything starts, the central nervous system of the house where people all gather. I have been inspired by the atmosphere and the character of the kitchen, particularly older kitchens from my grandmother's time and I have transferred the kitchen clichés into a modern context."

Tall Chair by Tom Dixon

Tom Dixon's designs are extraordinary, each characterized by beautiful sculptural form. Tall Chair, with its slender form and accentuated high backrest, can be considered as a design statement. The upholstered dining chair is available in grey fabric with brushed black-lacquered oak legs. It was launched in 2006 and it's a perfect accompaniment to the Slab Dining Table in solid oak . Recently Tom Dixon used his Tall Chairs to complete interior design for The Circus Bar & Restaurant in London.
